Les Maisons de Vincent

Adapted living and care facilities for autistic adults based on agro-ecology.

Our ambition

The association “Les Maisons de Vincent” was founded by Hélène Médigue, an actress and director, because her older brother Vincent, who is autistic, had never been able to benefit from a decent and suitable accommodation solution for his profile.

To improve the care of autism, the association creates and operates innovative living and care facilities, specifically designed for adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders, in connection with agro-ecological agriculture.

The first “Vincent’s House”, renovated and furnished with the support of the Jean-Noël Thorel Foundation, opened in 2021 in Mers-les-Bains, in the Somme department. On the ground floor, it houses “Jeannot’s Grocery,” a shop selling organic and local products and a tea room, open to the city, in which residents have a fulfilling activity. The second house is located in Goult in the Vaucluse.

The positive impacts of the Mers pilot home on residents, their families and the territory were assessed in an independent impact study published in 2023.

In 2025, Hélène Médigue also advances the issue of realizing everyone’s human potential, and the challenge of taking care of humans and living things, through the making of the fiction film “A Place for Pierrot“. This film is produced by Nord-Ouest and supported by the Jean-Noël Thorel Foundation. It will be released in theaters on September 10, 2025 and will also be broadcast on television.

This film shows the challenges faced by caregivers alongside a loved one with a disability, and how the emotional intelligence (empathy, intuition, courage) of families and those leading projects for living spaces makes it possible to create support solutions that promote the full development of residents and the peace of mind of the families involved.

To make it easier for families looking for suitable housing for an autistic adult, and to share key information with those planning new homes, we supported the writing of a practical guide, accessible at this link (in french).
