The school that makes every child’s treasure shine!

To act together to contribute to the realization of the human potential of each individual, at any age and from any background, and to share an ambition – that of promoting a renewal of education.

Our ambition

In 2022, the Jean-Noël Thorel Foundation had the chance to discover the fantastic activities carried out by the Cours Ozanam in Marseille, passionately led by Christophe Certain and his entire team.

From 2024 onwards, we have provided support to this unique school, considering that their mission fully echoes the objective of contributing to the realization of human potential of our endowment fund.

Cours Ozanam is an independent and non-denominational school, with reduced admission fees, for children from families in the priority neighborhoods of Saint-Just and Malpassé-Corot (Marseille 13th) who wish to succeed.

The original request, made by parents, was to consider the three dimensions of a child’s life: home, school and street. And thus, to get parents, teachers and partners working together.

The Ozanam course now welcomes children with varied cognitive profiles and from different cultural, ethnic or religious backgrounds. In close partnership with families and in extracurricular or parenting activities, it forms a mobilized micro-society, to enable each child to “become who he/she is”.

The mission of the Ozanam course, in summary?

“Preventing academic and societal disengagement, and to contribute to the renewal of education in France”
